How
Can I Help Midwest Academy of Target Shooting Athletes?
"Ask
not what your country can do for you -
ask what you can
do for your country"
John F. Kennedy
It
is worth remembering that everything you do in life comes
back to you sooner or later, and often with dividends.
Thus, making an investment in a worthy cause today is
also an investment in your own future happiness, success,
and well-being.

What
Are We Waiting For?
Fact: Out
of all the nations in the world, the United States allows the
most freedom to its citizens with respect to owning firearms,
especially handguns.
One of
the
principles that this nation was originally founded on is the
right of every citizen to protect himself against any threat
to his
life. This right is secured
by the Second Amendment, allowing all citizens to bear firearms.
There are few educated souls in the civilized world
who have
not heard
of the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution, and
the pride with which we exercise and protect our inalienable
rights.
Fact: The
United States Olympic Team has been leading in total medal
count rankings for the Summer Olympic Games since 1996.
Fact: The
United States Shooting Team has not medalled in 10m Air Pistol
(Men's or Women's) at the Olympic Games since Barcelona, 1988
(Erich Buljung, Silver).
Fact: The United States Shooting Team has not medalled in 50m Free
Pistol at the Olympic Games since Tokyo, 1964 (Franklin Green,
Silver).
Do
you see a problem here? We do too, and are working hard to
change that. The United States is the one country that must
be present on the podium for Olympic Pistol events every year
that the Games are held, regardless of our competition. Every
United States citizen is granted the right to own and operate
firearms
as a birthright, yet we have somehow failed to demonstrate our
proficiency
with
handguns on the international Olympic stage before the rest of
the world. Because our rights are inalienable and granted at
birth, we have
nothing
to prove to anyone, the right will always be ours.
But don't you think that we DESERVE to and HAVE THE POTENTIAL
to emerge as a leader in these particular Olympic disciplines,
moreso than any other nation? Yes, we think so too. Only one
question remains...
What are we waiting for?
How
You Can Help
"It
is more blessed to give than to receive"
Origin: The Bible
By
helping us, you help the growth of an underrepresented sport
discipline in the United States, which is one of the oldest
in the history of the
Olympic Games, going back to the first Modern Olympic
Games in 1896. The Midwest Academy of Target Shooting is dedicated
to developing high-achieving state, national, and international-level
athletes in Olympic Style Target Pistol Shooting, to help United
States
win back the Olympic glory in these disciplines, which is,
after all, our birthright.

as well as some of our nation's most aspiring Target
Shooting Athletes. Here are some of the ways in which
you can help:

Monetary Donations: We appreciate monetary donations
by personal check or money order, and we are currently working
on integrating a PayPal-based donation system for our website
to make the process of giving as simple as possible.
-
Gifts in Kind: We welcome all donations in kind. If
you have a collection of firearms that includes Sports Pistols
that you no longer use, we would be eternally grateful for
your gift of such a firearm. Any non-monetary gifts of personal
property that would help our cause and expand our outreach
efforts
are appreciated.
